I Am No Longer A Teenager.

Yesterday was my birthday! It was such a great day entirely. I spent the early hours of my birthday with my girl friends, who counted down the minutes until my big day. It was great being with them when the clock struck 12 and getting chocolate icing in my hair and face, also while listing to the Dixie Chicks. Okay, it wasn't so fun getting icing in my hair, but at least it tasted good. Right? Then I went out on a mini shopping spree with one of the bests. For dinner I had my fav, meatloaf. I love that stuff. Thanks to a special boy who made it specially for me. Back at home with my parents and brothers my mom bought me my favorite cake in the world, Stephanie's Red Velvet Cheesecake from The Cheesecake Factory. OHMYGOD! I just love that cake, if you have never tried it before, you must. Right. Now. It is that good. I then caught the latest Sherlock Holmes, which was fantastic. I couldn't decided if I liked the first one or this one the best. So, I left it at a tie. It was such an awesome day. Thank you to everyone who wished me a Happy Birthday and a special thank you to those wonderful people I spent it with.

However, I am counting down the days until my 21st. Only 354 more days.

Below is a picture of my cake I adore. It is mouth-watering delicious. Perfection.

My Merry Little Christmas.

My mom created a scrapbook for each of her sisters, she has four of them. The scrapbook was filled with old photos of my grandmother and grandfather. Mostly it consisted of photos of my grandma. You see, my grandma (mamaw is what all of us grandkids call her) passed away about a year ago. Her passing was hard on everyone and still is to this day. My mom thought this would be a great gift and keepsake that could be kept in the family for years to come. It turned out perfect.
My papaw. Isn't he hansom? Except for the UK hat. He is a dire hard fan. I hate them. We butt heads when it comes to sports.
My baby cousin. She got this little toy, which I forget the name of it. It sort of reminds me of a Furby. You tell it to dance, it dances. You tell it to talk, it talks. She loved it, but after about 5 minutes of it on I was ready to take the batteries out. Below, sorry about the poor photo quality. I don't know what happened there, but this photo was too cute to pass up.
My cousins and I. We are all extremely close. Gosh have we all grown up, they are so gorgeous now. Can you believe I am the oldest and they are all taller than me? I am in heels, oh how I love how heels hide my vertical challenge.
She is graduating high school this year. Goodness I feel old.
My goodlookin' Papaw once again repping that UK hate. Yuck, I should've made him take it off.

I hope you all had a fantastic Christmas. Mine was fabulous. I had a great time seeing old friends, hanging out with my family and eating twice my body weight in food. By food I mean 80% cookies, fudge and candy and 20% actual food. Is this about the time to say I need to start my New Years resolution by purchasing a gym membership? Yeah, looking back at my imaginary food diary, I need that gym membership like a fat kid needs cake. Or like I need cake.

Don't You Have A Little Class To Go With That Mustache?

You have better checked yourself at the door, because if you don't have a stash then you have to dash. The Mustashio Bashio party I had over the weekend with my friends was a total blast. Everyone was required to wear a mustache at all times. I don't know how familiar you are with sporting a mustache, but let me allow you in on a little tidbit: mustaches make it is almost nearly impossible to smile, terribly difficult to drink, a hell of a time to keep food out of it while eating, sweaty and itchy. However, the whole mustachepalooza was fantastic. What a night.
Black mustaches are all the rage. Obviously.

She had the best suspenders, candy cane! Also, her mustache stole the show. It was phenomenal.
See, everyone loved the big, gray mustache.
I would advise you to throw a party with your friends where there is only one rule: YOU MUST WEAR A MUSTACHE. It was great to be able to spend time with my bests. I missed nights like that with my girls. Also, I wanted to give the hosts a shout out. She went above and beyond, everything turned out spectacular!

How was your Holiday weekend? Have you ever attended a mustache bash? I will posts more pictures later of Christmas day and such.

Merry Christmas Everyone!

It's A Wonderful Life. I could seriously watch that movie every day of my life if I chose to do so. It is such a classic that never gets old. It makes me realize the importance of the little things and to cherish them with all your heart. I am so blessed to have the people in my life that I do. My family is so great and we always share many laughs and tears, mostly laughs though. I am so entirely grateful for my friends, especially my bests. Without them in my life I don't know who I would be or where I would be in life. Words can not express the love I have for them all. Thank you for all of your support, love, friendship and everything else you have given me. I truly cherish every moment I have spent with you.

Have a Merry Christmas everybody! I hope it brings you an abundance of joy and happiness.

It's That Day Again.

Awkward:
Dressing a mannequin in a window display. Yep. That is just about as awkward as it gets.
How ruined my bridesmaid dress is due to the amount of beer on it.
Getting your scarf stuck in the register drawer. Then having your boss come over ride the register so that you can be set free.
Dancing with not one, but two married men. That's a first. Oh weddings.
The amount of followers I have. I need some more. I would love you forever if you did and give you a shout out (not begging I swear).
Being in the wedding party and walking into the reception sober. I could only imagine.
Me wrapping gifts.
The look on men's faces when they are walking around alone, aimlessly in the mall. Priceless.
How much food I have under my "awesome." On second thought, food is awesome.

Awesome:
Getting paid on Christmas Eve.
Eating mashed potatoes for breakfast.
The Oh My God sushi roll with a side of rice at Tokyo. It is OHMYGOD delicious.
Christmas cookies. Correction. My mother's christmas cookies. She is the best.
Giving presents, rather than receiving them. Though receiving them is nice too.
While sticking to the food theme, the sugar cookie milkshake at Denny's. Try it.
My birthday coming up in just a couple of days.
Being home for the holidays. I am bursting with joy and cannot wait to be home with my awesome friends and family.
The Christmas Mustachio Bashio party one of my bests is throwing. We must wear mustaches, which is awesome.

This gorgeous photo is from Jenni's awesome blog Story of My Life. I love reading her posts; they are just great. Do yourself a favor and follow her. You won't be disappointed.

Lately I've Been Thinking.

I realize it has been quite a few days between my last post and this one. I apologize for my lack of blogging lately. My life has been absolutely insane and where I am currently I don't receive internet service, so I have to sneak off somewhere where I can borrow some WiFi. The days until Christmas are dwindling down and I am getting pretty pumped about all the events unfolding this week. With everything that is about to happen and currently going on in my life I have been thinking a lot lately.

Money. I have spent every last penny to my name on gas so that I could drive back and forth from work to back home so that I can spend time with friends and family.

The season of giving. I love giving presents more than I like receiving them. It is just something about the expression on the person's face and that light in their eye they get after opening a gift. That is the greatness of the season, giving, not recieving. Well, since I am dirt broke I have not bought a single item for anyone. Not my parents, brothers, relatives, best friends. I feel absolutely terrible, but on Saturday I get paid, so I will be doing some intense last minute shopping and gift ideas.

My job. I love my job but I hate being away from home too. All of my family and friends are off school and this is the time to be with them, but I am stuck away from home. I. Hate. It. I missed out decorating the house, putting up the tree and setting up the Christmas village, which has always been my job ever since I can remember. Also, I missed out on mom baking cookies. I guess I can keep off a few LB's this year with missing that wondrous event.

Family. I love my family more than words can describe. Losing a family member is like losing a piece of yourself; it is a terrible feeling. Well lately our family has been pulling together for all the surgeries that are coming up in our future. My mother is having surgery this week and it should go through smoothly, but surgery is always a scary thing. Then my uncle is also having surgery this week. His is more on the serious side. He has a lot of heart problems and just got added to the transplant list. With this surgery this week they plan to help the problems with his heart, but it is only a temporary fix until he can get a transplant. The surgery comes with high risk and possibility of complications so if everyone could just keep him in his thoughts that would be great. Thank you!

My future. I always think of my future. I have terrible self-esteem issues when it comes to success. I want nothing more in life than to make something of myself and be successful. I am constantly conscious of the decisions I make now in my life and where they will lead me later in life, or if they will even matter at all. I am always second guessing myself, like if I am making the right choices or if this is where I am meant to be. Ugh life.

Weddings. Since the wedding of my dear friends Whitney and Derek over the weekend (photos to come) I have been thinking a lot about weddings, especially my own. I cannot wait for the day I meet the man of my dreams and I fall head-over-heels, crazy in love and we get married. The day of my wedding will be so magical with all of my loved ones there supporting our future together. Also, my reception will be one hell of a party! But, all of that fun stuff will be on hold for quite sometime. I am still a kid for goodness sakes.

Our soldiers. I know a lot of people that a fighting for this country. Recently there was a tragic accident of a friend of mine from high school where he was terribly injured. He just arrived home since the accident happened, which I believe happened in September. I was not home for his homecoming, but the way the community pulled together for him was heart warming. On another note, I very good friend of mine just enlisted to the Marines. In my heart I always knew that would be the path he would choose to take. I just wish him all the good luck and safety in the world.

This is getting a lot longer than I ever intended, so I will stop here.

1. ModCloth $50 // 2. Zara $50 // 3. DSW $40 // 4. Zara $36 // 5. Zappos $75 // 6. ModCloth $80 // 7. Forever21 $35 // 8. DSW $65 // 9. Old Navy $18 // 10. ModCloth $48
If there is one thing you must know about me, it would be that I have a shoe fetish. It is my drug, my addiction, my weakness. I blow paycheck after paycheck on countless shoes. I just cannot get enough. I sound like a true addict don't I? Right now, with it being the wintertime and all, I am obsessed with boots. By obsessed, I mean full-fledged, crazy, obsession that could possibly be borderline psychotic. Well here are some of my favorites I found and some other ones I wish I could pull off/had the courage to wear. Maybe I will build up the guts and just buy them and show them off to the world. Well, listen here, it gets better. Wait for it, wait for it: they are all under $100. I know, I know, I am a boss. Which ones are your favorites? They would make perfect gifts don't ya think? I would loveeee them if someone gave me a pair (or two).

Being Home Is Awesome!

Awkward:
How much different sounding my laugh is when laying on my back.
Falling asleep on the couch in the SigEp chapter room (fraternity). So much for pulling an all-nighter.
Getting my exam handed to me, looking at it and thinking "WTF. I know absolutely nothing."
Playing eeny meeny miny mo during my exam in order to choose an answer.
Greeting people at work and them checking you up and down, then give you a death stare and then walk away without saying a word. Rude much?
My face after a relaxing massage.
How attractive I look during finals week. I'm sexy and I know it.

Awesome:
The photos above. I love White Christmas. I love old Christmas movies.
IU BEATING UK WITH A BUZZER BEATER! WOAH IT WAS CRAZY.
Talking trash for the remainder of the week to everyone on campus. It's good to be a Hoosier and it's even better going to school in Kentucky. Suck it losers.
Being done with finals and first semester.
Home.
Having a $450 sale at work. Heck yeah!
Free massages during finals week in attempt to make you stress free. The stress remained, but the massage well well worth it.

Homebound.

I am going home today to see my marvelous friends and family. I. Cannot. Wait. Ahh, I am so excited to eat my mother's breakfast (Dad chips in too). It is famous with all my friends back home. She makes the best biscuits and gravy around and some darn good pancakes. My mouth is watering just thinking about it. I might just gain 25lbs on this visit home. Well, I hope that doesn't happen because I have a wedding to attend on Saturday. I paid a lot of money for that bridesmaids dress and I would like to fit in it as I walk down that isle and dance the night away.

Have a wonderful weekend everyone. I will post the wedding photos asap. Any big plans for you this weekend?

Holy Cow, I Am Done With Finals!

Above was me studying for finals for hours on end and into the wee hours of the night. As you can obviously see, I look ever so attractive and pick up loads of guys during finals week. These photos are procrastination at its finest (if only I posted the countless photos I took this night, you would get a kick out of them I'm sure). Finals always seem to get the best of me. I can always count on finals to induce the urge to pull my hair out and scream. This is usually how my intense (I use that word loosely) study sessions go: open up Pandora, fill out study guide, check Facebook and Twitter, drink coffee, blog, drink coffee, spill coffee on study guide, read over notes (which never make sense), fill out study guide until a question stumps me, tweet how much finals suck, drink coffee, blog about finals, study until everything begins to sound like gibberish, give up on studying, go to bed, but have difficulties falling asleep due to immense coffee intake. Yep, that sounds about right. That is my typical night of studying, or not so much studying. Don't judge me.

Well, now all of the stressing, worrying, late night study sessions, and procrastination is over! It all ended with me taking charge of that religion final and basically making it, for a lack of better words, my bitch. I so far have all As, except for my medieval literature class. I am hoping and praying I keep my B in there. I need to raise my GPA, because right now it is pretty pathetic due to last semester. As of right now, I am screaming and shouting with joy because it is now Christmas break. Whoooo! I cannot wait to go home and see my ever so lovely friends and family. They are the best.

I am amazed I made it through this week, to say the least. Thankfully it is all over and put behind me. Now it is time for some much needed rest and resuscitation, since I have practically been in a coma all week.
After my last exam. I am one happy girl.

I Have Been In Hiding. Hiding From Exams That Is.

This past week has been crazy busy and I am sorry for the lack of posting that has been going on. I have seriously done nothing but study, create and design for the past week and a half. Finals week is slowly coming to a close and boy let me tell you, I can not wait until I am done with exams. I need a break from school. Forever. Well here are some pictures from my final for my Three Dimensional Design class. We had to construct a bridge over a bowl we made (please be nice on my coil pot, it was a first time and I did not make the base thick enough, so the sides of my bowl began basically eating my bottom base and that us why it looks like an ugly turd).

The whole thing. I was pretty pleased how it turned out. Although it left me with hot glue burns.

This was before I cleaned it up a bit and got rid of hot glue strands.
I needed a little pick me up. So I ordered some pepperoni pizza, cheese bread and Dr. Pepper.

I used loads of toothpicks and even more hot glue. Yes, lots and lots of hot glue.

Oh and in case all of you were wondering, I came out with an A in this class. I was so surprised which quickly turned into me being extreme ecstatic jumping around my room. This professor rarely ever gives A's. So I was uber pleased, to say the least. I have some other stuff I constructed during this class. Maybe I will share those projects with you in another post. Sorry for being distant lately, hell week will be over soon.

It's Beginning To Look A Lot Like Christmas!

I just love my awesome holiday socks and Merry Christmas booties. They make me one happy girl.

December 8, 2011

This Girl Has Some Kahonas.

A friend of mine posted this on Facebook and I thought I would share this with you.
This is a prime example of what the military fights for. The freedom of speech.
They fight for everyone's rights.
She's is lucky we have that freedom because of our troops.
Bless the troops - the ones at home, injured, over seas and sadly, the ones we've lost.

And that's all I am going to say.

This Week Was More Awesome Than Awkward. I Think.

Awkward:
Having your best friend drive up beside you and catching you putting your deodorant on (photo above).
Waking up late, running to class in what you slept in to only realize you did not wash off your night zit cream. Cool.
Trying to get hot glue off of your hands. Impossible.
Walking in the cafe and tripping on someone's abandoned book bag in the middle of the floor; hoping no one saw. Then having the witnesses actually point and laugh at you. That's right, point AND laugh.
Someone going through the photos on your camera and finding your outfit post pictures. Then trying to explain yourself.

Awesome:
Being almost done with my first semester of my sophomore year.
Getting 2 paychecks this week. Heck yeah!
White chocolate mint with a squirt of dark chocolate latte. Plus, the red and green sprinkles they add on top of the whipped cream for the holidays.
My mom giving me survival needs for exam week. By survival needs I mean Oreos, coffee and hot chocolate.
The new apple cinnamon air freshener in my room. It reminds me of Christmas.

Dear Santa..I Mean Parents.

I hope that I didn't spoil the fun for you Santa believers out there. Honestly, if you ask me, there is a Santa Clause. But, who am I kidding, the news was broken to me years ago that mom and dad buy a vast majority of my gifts. Though, I still leave out milk and cookies (and reindeer food) just for his arrival. Here is my Christmas list! I have been an extra good girl this year. Some of the gifts are already taken care of thanks to Black Friday. Boy do I love that day! Since my birthday is so close to the holiday I tend to combine both my Christmas list and my birthday wishes. What are you hoping to get this year?

It's Monday, Lets Do An Outfit Post.

Shirt: F21, Cardigan: CHARLOTTE RUSSE, Scarf: UNKNOWN, Skirt: F21, Earrings: RAINBOW,
Tights: TARGET, Boots: TARGET

How was everyone's weekend? I hope fabulous. I had a nice little epic adventure of going from work, to hopping in my car to drive home for a good friend's Bachelorette Party. I had a great time there, but I have yet to upload/edit the photos yet - what do you expect I am a college kid and I am really sometimes lazy. Until Bachelorette story time enjoy my attempted outfit post.

By the way, I love my background on my last photo! Don't you? Also, be sure you check out my "Days Until Christmas" counter. I. CAN'T. WAIT.
