Transitioning From Kentucky To Home.

So, I know I have been gone for practically half a month. With my life completely flipped upside down, blogging was not first on my list to worry about. I shall share with you over the next couple of posts of what I have been up to. As for this post, I am going to briefly discuss my second year of college. Boy, I can't believe it has already flown by...
This was the first year I played soccer at this school (since I transferred). I love my team, I love my girls. We are practically one big family. I am so happy that I have had the opportunity to meet these lovely ladies. They have changed my life forever.
I love this girl right here. She is my partner in crime, my other half, my best friend, my future roommate. She cracks me up and we swear that we were sisters separated at birth; we understand each other. She is a wonderful person that is full of laughs and has a huge heart. If I ever need anything, she is the one I go to. I couldn't imagine this year without her.
These two beautiful girls are my two Bests that I am always babbling about here on this blog. My apologizes for the blurriness. They are my rock, my sanity, and are the ones that pull me back up. I don't know where I would be without them. We have had too many laughs and memories. Even though we are miles away, we can always come back together. I love these two and I am so lucky to have friends like them.
These last two pictures are of my best gal pals down in Kentucky. I love them more than words can justify. We are always together. They have helped me grow so much since being away in college and have made the transfer a breeze. They have become life long friends.

I have always believed that Sophomore is the worst year because, you are not longer a freshman and you are not really and upperclassman where you actually have your shit together (okay no one has their shit together). You are just kind of stuck. This year, however, has helped me grow as a person. I wouldn't take back this year for anything. I am going to miss being home away from these great people I have met and those that have become friends. Junior year has a lot to live up to.

Mmmm...Cookie Cakes!

So, I was going to get on here and complain about poor professors. Actually, I would not even consider them professors. I will just stop there and bite my tongue. Boy, am I a competitive, hothead when it comes to sports most things.

Instead, I am just going to say that I have one week of classes left. I CAN DO THIS! I can't believe that my sophomore year is coming to an end. I will do a full recap post once I edit all of the pictures. This is all too surreal. It is all too bittersweet. I love my school and the friends I have made, especially this year. I can't wait to go home and be with friends and family, but I will defiantly miss my life down here. I have met so many great people and have made friends that will last a lifetime. Even though this wasn't my first pick in school, and probably never will be, I am so happy that I am here. It's funny to think where life takes us.

Oh, by the way, I love cookie cake.

I Am Such A Boy Sometimes.

Lately, I have been a topnotch video gamer. One day, the roommates and I decided to try to do something other than sleep and watch movies (sleeping and movie time are some of my top favorite activities to do), we chose to play Xbox. We have a whopping 3 games to choose from: FIFA, Call of Duty and James Bond 007. Since we are all soccer players and refuse to play soccer outside of practice, we scratched FIFA off the list. Then it came down to Call of Duty and James Bond, and lets face it, James is such a good looking guy. So, we ultimately chose 007. Since then, we have developed a slight obsession of the game. We play nearly every day and it's brought into conversation multiples times throughout the day. We are becoming pretty awesome at it..for girls anyways. Bring it on boys.
At first, this was us. "How do you shoot?"--"I am lost and can't find anyone, where are you?"--"BOOM! Kill streak...shoot I just killed myself with my own grenade."...yeah, we said stuff like that.

Got My Vans On, But They Look Like Sneakers.

I have been telling myself every day as I lay in bed, "Tomorrow, I will write a new blog post." Well, many days later, here I am. I tend to have that bad habit, for intense, "My diet starts tomorrow," or "Tomorrow I will wake up early and look at least halfway presentable for class." All of these turn out to be big ole lies, especially the part where I try to wake up early in order to look cute. Fail. Fail. Fail. It is a typical day on campus to see me rocking the soccer shorts, tshirt, hoodie and vans. If you happen to catch me with my hair in a bun and I am wearing tall socks, it is more likely going to be a rough day. Why do I always tend to catch a ride on the struggle bus?

Well, today I made the poor judgement of wearing a hoodie to my 8am class. I don't know if you guys have this problem, but the weather drastically changes from 8am to midday. It felt like I was on the sun. Stupid sweatshirt.

My life lately has consisted nothing but work, school, and soccer. And sometimes reading. I try to get in a chapter or two a day. I have finally realized I love to read books. I have never been a big reader, until lately. I just want to open a book, smell the musty paper pages and get lost in the story. I think I may be becoming a book worm. But I am okay with that.

Today's Ramblings Over A Cup Of Coffee

Today is not so hot. My usage of the word "hot" stands for multiple definitions. The weather is not lovely like it was; I just want the warmness back. I am feeling blah. My coffee no longer has that sensation when I swallow a mouthful, or in other words, it got cold on me while I catch up on blogging. There is so much to do, so my stress level is at an ultimate high.

Quick question, why do professors wait for the week before spring break to give us more work than they have all semester? Because they hate us? Yeah, that's what I was thinking too. Oh, no professor, I have no other classes other than yours. Actually, I have no class other than yours, so no I wouldn't mind a paper or two and unlimited homework. Why thanks (insert college girl sarcasm). Thank you professors for piling even more shit onto my plate. I hate you.

Now that I got that little rant out of the way. This morning I hopped on the struggle bus to take a trip on it all day long. Ugh, I need a nap. However, my day is looking up ever since I purchased this glorious cup of coffee that I have in my hand. It's amazing how one cup of coffee can make your day instantly better. Coffee makes me all warm and fuzzy inside. Though, my coffee is now cold since I got highly distracted on Pinterest. I best go and pour myself a new cup. Yes, more coffee! Not even mad about it.

Friday.

So sorry for being absent, and I know that my last post was not a positive one. For those that were worried/wondering everyone in this college town is safe. Wind started to pick up badly around 2pm and a short time later the sirens went off. Everyone was rushed to the basement where there was a couple of windows where we could see what was happening outside (I realize windows are not safe, but it was the best place for us to go in the building). The sky was ugly and soon enough the hail came. I fell down so hard that I could have sworn it was snowing. You couldn't see a foot in front of your face, because of how much hail their was. Everyone was on their phones and updating one another. We had a tornado touch down two blocks down the road from campus, but it did minimal damage in its paths. We got lucky. We got very lucky.

As, I am sure you are well aware, other towns were terribly struck. A state of emergency was in effect here in western Kentucky, where at least 20 people were killed by dozens of tornados. The tornados hit 19 counties here and left at least 300 people injured. My heart goes out to those cities who were left with near nothing. I know Kentucky was not the only state that were struck with these disasters. Many towns in numerous states where caught in the tornado's path. To those everywhere who were affected by these tornados, I am dearly sorry. I couldn't imagine the struggles you are facing.

If anyone know's of a site or foundation were the proceeds go towards the families of this tragedy, please let me know. I would love to help.

Storm Warning.

So, where I am located in Kentucky has a severe storm warning in effect today. The storm is to hit us bad by noon-ish. Earlier this week I was woke at six in the morning by one of my roommates telling me the tornado sirens were going off. Good thing I can wake up to those all on my own, right. I'm doomed. All four of us piled into our bathroom, as it is the safest room in the house. While shacked up in their for near an hour, we came to the conclusion that our bathroom is in desperate need of a good scrub down.

Well, the tornado ended up skipping our county (If you must know anything about Kentucky, it is that they don't go by cities. At all. They refer to everything as county. It is something I have gotten extremely used to) and hit one of the next counties over. That next county over is another one of my roommate's hometown (homecounty?). The middle school lost its roof, only blocks from my roommate's home. Scary stuff.

Today, however, is supposed to be ten times worse than the other day, which is freaking me out a bit. A few years ago our campus was stuck with disaster, as a tornado rolled through it and took everything with it. I would highly appreciate it if that would NOT happen again. I love storms, but tornados terrify me. A local new station only had, "The only thing that Western Kentucky can do is to pray" written on their website. Cool. Today is going to be wild.

Only two good things can arise from this situation. One: my two o'clock class gets canceled. Two: the storm is so bad that I don't have to go into work. Other than that, it's all uphill.

This makes me sad. Goodness, it is such a pretty day.

What I'm Lovin.

Lately I have been enjoying life. It's just been great. The weather has been more than marvelous and life itself has been simple and stress free. Thankfully.

Here is what I have been loving lately.

The fact that I can "lie" to my friends. Now, I don't mean any harm. By lie I mean this: The other day I went out and bought valentines, Justin Bieber valentines to be precise, and I signed them all anonymously. They have gotten all worked up on trying to figure out who they are all from. Somehow I keep swaying their attention to another person. I wonder how long the guessing game will last.

The old CDs I have found in the back seat of my car. They are all from my high school years and let me tell you, I was an exceptional CD maker. They have some great jams on there.

How messy my room is. Normally I hate this part of myself. I have a very bad tendency to neglect my room far past the point of no return. Well, now I have this mountain of clothes piled up and I laugh every time I (or someone else) crawl across it to get to the other side. I need to clean it bad. Do you know a maid that would be willing? Ugh. This room clean is going to be an all day affair and will have to wait for the weekend.

I just love not wearing a bra. It's the best.

My new shoes. They are the cutest. Plus, I got them on sale, heck yeah! Here they are in black, but I bought them in a nude shade.

The fact that I am going to see the Bests here in just a couple days. I. CANNOT. WAIT. It has been too long since I have seen them. Goodness I am getting all giddy just thinking about it. Plus, it's one of their birthdays, so it should be a phenomenal visit. I have never visited them at school before, nor have they visited me so this trip should be exciting. Then sitting here thinking of this visit makes me that much more excited to travel to Chicago with them. P.S. to my Bests. Keep an eye on the mailboxes. You may have a little surprise headed your way.

My aromatherapy sleep body wash. If I am having trouble sleeping I go take a shower and use that stuff. It relaxes me and puts me in the mood to sleep. Forever. Which, forever is never the case, but it would be nice to sleep in. Although I have an 8:00 class in the morning. What was I thinking when I scheduled for that class?

That's my latest loves. What have you been loving these past couple of days?

Surprise Surprises!

Hey there lovelies! I could have sworn that I just posted a new post, like yesterday? Time sure does fly. Well, let me give you the details of my week, or two. A special boy drove down here to good ol' Kentucky to visit me. His name is Nick by the way. I know, Nick and Nicki kinda has a funny ring to it doesn't it? He is what I like to call my "man friend," since we have yet to make that jump into actual relationship status. I mean, it's not real unless it's Facebook official, right? Just kidding. Facebook, shmacebook. Anyways I worked practically the whole weekend he was here, so he had a lot of bonding time with the roommates. They absolutely loved him and they are all pretty much best friends now. He was also a big smash with all of my other friends. I think they like him better than they like me now. Oh shucks.

I took Nick out for his first sushi experience. He is working on acquiring a taste for it, but for the most part I think that it went over very well. Boy do I love some sushi.

When he left I was super sad, but little did I know this boy had a surprise up his sleeve. A week went by and I was starting to miss him..a lot. Well, here I am on a Monday night in my bed with my retainer in. Basically I looked so drop dead gorgeous. Right as I curl up to fall asleep for the night in walks Nick. That little shit had it planed for a whole week to come pay me a surprise visit! I usually hate surprises, but I just loved this one. Kinda. I couldn't let him know I enjoyed it. Well he only stayed until the next day (Tuesday) and drove home to work on Wednesday AND then drove back down to Kentucky after he got off on Wednesday to stay with me until Thursday night. He is just great. Really really great.

Feeling A Little Green Today.

Actually I feel like today made me more green forever. You see, a friend told me about this awesome app that I can download for my iPad. I won my iPad at a party, and I honestly hardly ever use it. I can't run with it while working out (well I guess you could, but it would be difficult), you can't talk on it like a phone, it is difficult to type on so I would prefer to use my laptop and I pretty much only use it for games. That was before I was introduced with this awesome, and I mean AWESOME!, app.

This life changing app is called Notes Plus, for those who haven't heard of it. With this I can now take notes just like I would with any notebook. Instead of wasting paper and using countless notebooks, I now have a library of notebooks for all of my subjects on my iPad. I bought a stylus so that it is easier to write. Oh, you also want to know what is super cool about the app? You can plug it into your computer and edit it or print it out. You have total freedom while using it and it offers so many options, but it is really easy to use. Everything about this app is great. You now will never catch me purchasing another notebook ever again.

What This Semester Will Have In Store For Me.

Why hello my little chickadees. How was everyone's weekend? Spectacular? I have been distant lately, I know. My posts haven't had much depth in them, so I apologize. My life has been in fast forward lately. My foot has been petal to the metal everyday after the next. So, now that I have time to recollect myself and I now will enlighten you on my whereabouts lately.

I am a workaholic. I want to make something of myself. I want to be successful. I have an acute sense of self awareness when it involves my future. I constantly question my actions today and if it will cause conflict with my future. At some point I will find my center, things will come full circle and I will stop being self-conscious of my decisions. Until then, I will continue to be a workaholic and strive to be successful.

My job that I currently have hasn't exactly been cutting it. I don't get the hours I hoped for, because right now is our downtime. My bank account was looking a little slim due to the holidays. I spent a little too much over the holidays, but who doesn't? Right? Well, in order to fulfill my checking account's thirst I went out and got another job. It took them awhile to call me back and confirm I got the position after my interview, but better late than never. When I received the call, it was a huge, HUGE, relief off my chest. I am now a waitress/bartender in training at this fancy, country-club like restaurant. I have to wear all black from head to toe (I will post pictures of my attire later). So far I love it and I make great money off tips, especially on weekends. My first weekend dinner shift I made $150 in five hours. I could get used to this. Actually, it is going to take a lot to get used to with memorizing the lunch menu, dinner menu, mixed drinks, wine list, and so much more. In the end, it will be worth it.

So there ya go. That's where I have been lately. No, I haven't been anywhere exciting like Ireland or Spain. Though I wish I was there. That would be freaking amazing. I am just a poor college kid that is now juggling two jobs, classes (18 hours to be exact), soccer training and the little social life I now have. This semester is going to be a rough one, but I think I can handle it. Hopefully.

Holy Cow, I Am Done With Finals!

Above was me studying for finals for hours on end and into the wee hours of the night. As you can obviously see, I look ever so attractive and pick up loads of guys during finals week. These photos are procrastination at its finest (if only I posted the countless photos I took this night, you would get a kick out of them I'm sure). Finals always seem to get the best of me. I can always count on finals to induce the urge to pull my hair out and scream. This is usually how my intense (I use that word loosely) study sessions go: open up Pandora, fill out study guide, check Facebook and Twitter, drink coffee, blog, drink coffee, spill coffee on study guide, read over notes (which never make sense), fill out study guide until a question stumps me, tweet how much finals suck, drink coffee, blog about finals, study until everything begins to sound like gibberish, give up on studying, go to bed, but have difficulties falling asleep due to immense coffee intake. Yep, that sounds about right. That is my typical night of studying, or not so much studying. Don't judge me.

Well, now all of the stressing, worrying, late night study sessions, and procrastination is over! It all ended with me taking charge of that religion final and basically making it, for a lack of better words, my bitch. I so far have all As, except for my medieval literature class. I am hoping and praying I keep my B in there. I need to raise my GPA, because right now it is pretty pathetic due to last semester. As of right now, I am screaming and shouting with joy because it is now Christmas break. Whoooo! I cannot wait to go home and see my ever so lovely friends and family. They are the best.

I am amazed I made it through this week, to say the least. Thankfully it is all over and put behind me. Now it is time for some much needed rest and resuscitation, since I have practically been in a coma all week.
After my last exam. I am one happy girl.

I Have Been In Hiding. Hiding From Exams That Is.

This past week has been crazy busy and I am sorry for the lack of posting that has been going on. I have seriously done nothing but study, create and design for the past week and a half. Finals week is slowly coming to a close and boy let me tell you, I can not wait until I am done with exams. I need a break from school. Forever. Well here are some pictures from my final for my Three Dimensional Design class. We had to construct a bridge over a bowl we made (please be nice on my coil pot, it was a first time and I did not make the base thick enough, so the sides of my bowl began basically eating my bottom base and that us why it looks like an ugly turd).

The whole thing. I was pretty pleased how it turned out. Although it left me with hot glue burns.

This was before I cleaned it up a bit and got rid of hot glue strands.
I needed a little pick me up. So I ordered some pepperoni pizza, cheese bread and Dr. Pepper.

I used loads of toothpicks and even more hot glue. Yes, lots and lots of hot glue.

Oh and in case all of you were wondering, I came out with an A in this class. I was so surprised which quickly turned into me being extreme ecstatic jumping around my room. This professor rarely ever gives A's. So I was uber pleased, to say the least. I have some other stuff I constructed during this class. Maybe I will share those projects with you in another post. Sorry for being distant lately, hell week will be over soon.
